Environmental Design- Worldbuilding through Concept Art & Matte Painting
These environmental design works, including concept art and matte paintings, were created across a range of projects, each tailored to the unique shape language and visual mood of its narrative. I employed a mix of styles and techniques depending on project needs. Alongside 2D tools such as Photoshop, I also integrated 3D software like Maya and Unreal Engine to design scenes for projection mapping and to create the illusion of movement through camera projection.
I created the matte painting for the Mars establishing shot in our group project Expedition to Earth, handling the environmental design, matte painting, and projection work, which also served as the reference for the rest of the environments.
I created this environmental design for the intro scene of a game project and used Unreal Engine's sequencer and cameras for its composition.
