Drawing for Animation Course

As an Assistant Instructor for Drawing for Animation at The University of Texas at Dallas, I worked closely with students across multiple semesters, playing an active role in their learning and creative growth. In this role, I served as both mentor and technical guide, encouraging students to take creative risks while building confidence in their ideas and design decisions.

These examples showcase student work from the Drawing for Animation course at the University of Texas at Dallas, Bass School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology.

Throughout the course, students developed foundational skills in drawing and design, including perspective, composition, prompt breakdown, thumbnailing, construction drawing, character design, line of action, and value studies. For the final assignment, they were asked to apply these concepts and techniques to create a completed composition based on a specific prompt.

This course serves as a foundational experience for students preparing to enter advanced 2D animation classes. The selected works below highlight various stages of the students' creative development across different modules.
